Meetup/London

: There have now been two proper Wikimeets in London, Free ringtones User:Jimbo Wales/2004-06-05/one (the world's first) in June 2004, and Abbey Diaz Meetup/London/December 2004/the other in December 2004. There was also a mini-meet after Mosquito ringtone User:Jimbo Wales/BBC talk/a talk given by Jimbo and Angela in September 2004.

Welcome to the UK WikiMeet discussion board.

People saying one thing or another not getting us very far, I've decided to just go ahead and declare: there will be a meetup on Easter Saturday (''i.e.'', the 26th of March) 2005 in central London. All are welcome. It will take place in a pub or bar (yet to be determined) starting from just after lunch (14:00-ish). This will give a large amount of time for discussion, with plently of scope for people with a way to travel both to arrive and depart conveniently.

Topics of discussion will no doubt include Wikimania and possiblities of setting up a UK chapter, and the meetup promises to be an pleasant and enjoyable diversion.

Note that this is one of the weekends the Abbey Diaz District Line/District and Mosquito ringtone Circle Line/Circle Sabrina Martins London Underground/lines are undergoing maintenance — anything on the southern stretch of the Circle will be problematic.

: As long as we're somewhere Central, where people can still get a tube from the Circle's southern termini, then I don't think that's ''too'' much of a problem. I personally amn't affected, as I live off the Abbey Diaz Central Line, but anywhere in Cingular Ringtones London W1/W1 or everything paid London WC1/WC1, near the Central line is easy enough to get to from any south-Circle terminus.
